Teresa Izar, DVM
VETERINARIAN

Dr. Teresa Izar earned her DVM  from Texas A&M University in 2004. She first practiced medicine in Dallas, TX. After meeting her husband there, they relocated to his hometown of Ridgewood, NJ.  Dr. Izar has a special interest in canine and feline dentistry.  She has advanced training in oral surgery and dental crown procedures which can be an alternative to tooth extraction.

Dr Izar lives in Bergen county with her husband and two children.  She has a dog named Shawsta who is the sweetest “mutt” you will ever meet, and two mischievous cats — Bullit and The Macallen.

Mary Raum, DVM
MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Dr. Mary Raum grew up in Sullivan County, NY and is thrilled to continue  providing individualized, high-quality medicine to the pets of Bergen County.

In 2005, she obtained her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology from Cornell University, receiving honors and distinction in research. In 2009, Dr. Raum completed a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from the Atlantic Veterinary College on Prince Edward Island. She started her career as an associate veterinarian at Hoboken Animal Hospital and Newport Veterinary Center. She then served as head surgeon at Orchard Grove Animal Hospital in Orange County, NY. Dr. Raum’s professional interests include soft tissue surgery, preventative medicine, behavior, and integrative medicine.

Dr. Raum and her husband have three cats: Theo, Levi, and Layla.  Dr. Raum moonlights as a professional oboist. She performs with many classical ensembles in New Jersey and around the New York Metropolitan area. In addition to music, Dr. Raum enjoys SCUBA diving, fashion, painting, rooting for Manchester United, and traveling to London with her husband.

Amy Tartini, DVM
Veterinarian

Dr. Tartini is a Bergen County native, who grew up in Ramsey, NJ and completed her undergraduate studies at Rutgers University. She is a graduate of St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine where she received her DVM after completing clinical rotations at Louisiana State University.  

Dr. Tartini’s love of both animals and medicine started at an early age. She has worked in the veterinary field since she was in high school and is now a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association (NJVMA), is Fear Free certified and places a high priority on communicating effectively with clients. Her clinical interests include preventative medicine, dermatology, behavior and internal medicine.  

In Dr. Tartini’s free time, you can find her at the gym or finding any excuse to get outdoors. She also enjoys illustrating and painting and always makes time to be present with friends and family. Dr. Tartini currently has one cat named Kahlua, who she adopted and brought back as a parting gift from the island of Grenada.
